We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Associate General Counsel to join our executive team. This individual will serve as a key legal advisor to the organization, supporting regulatory, transactional, and operational functions as we scale. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in healthcare law, including regulatory compliance, reimbursement models, and licensure/scope of practice rules for a variety of healthcare professionals across 50 states and DC.
The Associate General Counsel must be comfortable navigating complex relationships and arrangements with a wide range of partners, including health systems, employers, and commercial and government payers. While the role includes managing and leveraging outside counsel where appropriate, we are looking for someone who is hands-on and execution-oriented—ready to independently handle a broad range of day-to-day legal matters with practicality, speed, and sound judgment.

ResponsibilitiesAdvise on legal and regulatory requirements related to federal and state healthcare laws, including telehealth, licensure, scope of practice, marketing initiatives, corporate practice of medicine, and fraud and abuse laws (e.g., AKS, Stark, False Claims Act). Counsel internal teams on matters involving fee-for-service and value-based care arrangements with both government and commercial payers. Provide legal support for new business initiatives, including care delivery innovations, multidisciplinary clinical models, and strategic partnerships. Structure and support complex partnerships with health systems, employer clients, and payers, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including payer agreements, provider services agreements, MSAs, employment agreements and vendor contracts. Support compliance program development and implementation, including policies, training, and audits. Monitor and interpret legislative and regulatory changes impacting healthcare delivery, reimbursement, and compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including clinical operations, revenue cycle, product, and growth teams. Manage outside counsel on specialized matters while independently handling routine and high-volume legal work in-house. Requirements: JD from an accredited law school; admitted to practice and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. 7+ years of legal experience, with a strong focus on healthcare law—ideally in a combination of law firm and in-house roles. Demonstrated expertise in regulatory and compliance matters for healthcare providers operating across state lines, including virtual and hybrid care delivery. Experience advising on fee-for-service and value-based payment arrangements, including with CMS and commercial payers. Strong familiarity with multidisciplinary care models and licensure/scope of practice considerations for various provider types (e.g., physicians, NPs/PAs, pharmacists, dietitians, health coaches). Proven ability to support and structure partnerships with health systems, employers, and payers. Willingness to roll up sleeves and directly manage a broad range of legal and regulatory issues, balancing strategic thinking with day-to-day execution. Exceptional judgment, integrity, and ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments. Familiarity with healthcare privacy and data security regulations (HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, etc.).
