Job description

Our client is looking for a forward-thinking Chief Zero Emissions Officer (CZECO) to spearhead their commitment to achieving zero emissions across all operations. This executive leader will be pivotal in developing and implementing strategies that drive sustainability initiatives and ensure compliance with environmental regulations while promoting innovative practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive zero emissions strategy aligned with corporate sustainability goals.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including energy efficiency, sourcing renewable energy, and waste reduction.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate sustainable practices across all departments.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies related to emissions reduction.
  • Establish metrics and reporting mechanisms to track progress against zero emissions targets.
  • Serve as the organization's primary representative on sustainability-related partnerships and coalitions.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations, identifying and mitigating risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental management or sustainability roles, with substantial leadership experience.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing successful emissions reduction strategies.
  • Strong understanding of current sustainability practices, technologies, and relevant regulations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
