Job description

Job Description:

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Software Quality Engineer. This team member will collaborate with product and engineering teams to asses and test software quality, utilizing both manual and automated methods. They will work on diverse problems, evaluating identifiable factors to ensure comprehensive analysis.

This is a full-time, remote position. Candidates must live within 100 miles of the KC office.

Responsibilities
  •  Lead the test development, test execution, results analysis, and reporting of software, adhering to defined quality standards and best practices, and collaborate with the scrum team to discuss acceptance criteria and identify test scenarios. 
  • Assess quality trends and drive continuous improvement for processes, tools, and product quality performance.
  • Determine methods and procedures on new assignments, exercise judgment in selecting methods, evaluate, and adapt complex techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Create, enhance, maintain, and adapt existing automated tests as the product under test evolves.
  • Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management and develop recommendations to resolve issues'
  • Provide advice to others on complex matters, network with key contacts outside own area of expertise, and adapt style and use persuasion to deliver messages that relate to the wider business of the organization.  
  • Develop, maintain, and present training materials on quality assurance to business and IT staff, and provide technical training and mentoring to other development team members.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree with 7 - 10 years of position related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:

Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, creating automated test scripts, SQL .

Experience with Object-oriented programming.

Compensation

Starting at $91,436 up to $118,000
