Job Description

The Senior Business Development Executive is responsible for the implementation of marketing and business development (BD) plans by focusing on business planning, pitches, proposals, and tender submissions. This includes coordinating with other regional offices while alinging with firm-wide or regional BD strategies. Delivery of pitches and proposals will include key messages which are convincing and engageing, in both English and Chinese.

Marketing literature and client relationship management are also key aspects of the role. This includes creating and updating lawyers' profiles, liaising with the internal design & publication team for marketing collateral, managing reception area displays, proofreading, and maintaining document templates. Additionally, the role involves dealing with directory submissions, drafting submissions, coordinating research interviews, updating rankings and commentary documents, and supporting the development of client relationship skills among lawyers.

The role also encompasses managing information, projects, and budgets, contributing to process improvements, coordinating the BD budget, and ensuring activities represent the best return on investment. While pitches, proposals, submissions from the core job scope of the role, the Senior Executive will also have opportunities to manage internal/external communications, social media platforms, events, and corporate brand.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate should possess an appropriate undergraduate and have at least five years of experience working in a business development role within a law firm.

Strong written and verbal skills in both English and Chinese (Mandarin included) are essential to effectively deliver pitches and proposals. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as part of a broader team, showing self-motivation and proactivity. Confidence in dealing with partners and lawyers is crucial, along with excellent organizational and communication skills. The ability to prioritize and manage workload under pressure, coupled with a high degree of attention to detail, is necessary. The candidate should have a proven ability to establish professional credibility and be an excellent team worker, capable of thriving in a job share capacity. Familiarity with managing information, projects, and budgets, as well as experience in client relationship management, social media platforms, event management, and corporate branding, will be beneficial. The candidate should be innovative, commercially aware, and consistently able to add value to business development activities.
