Job description

Job Title: Clinical or Counselling Psychologist

Location: Hybrid/Onsite- Travel to Sidcup & Lambeth, with 1 day home working a week. However further travel within London is required on a need must basis.

Salary: £60,000 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Part Time, 3 days per week (24 hours per week) between Monday to Friday.

Right to live & work within the UK is required for this role. (This role requires high level security clearance)

Role Summary

We are looking to recruit a Counselling or Clinical Psychologist to join our team working with the MET Police.

You will conduct psychological assessments and deliver counselling to staff and officers in the MET police within the context of a multi specialist occupational health team.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

  • To provide psychoeducation to specific groups for preventative measures (such as stress management, mindfulness techniques). These could include one off group sessions, or up to eight designated sessions
  • To conduct trauma support sessions for clients impacted by psychological trauma at work
  • To work flexibly and independently, as an autonomous clinical practitioner, closely alongside the OH Team. This is especially relevant to the triage function of psychological referrals
  • To collaborate closely with other psychologists and non-psychology colleagues in OH & WB service, to be able to demonstrate a high standard of clinical skill, multidisciplinary engagement, and flexibility.
  • To support the clinical governance of and facilitate/deliver critical incident debriefing and support for individuals and teams
  • To work closely with the Clinical Lead for Psychological Monitoring and team in the OH department, to conduct assessments and advise on an employee's fitness to work from a psychological perspective.

Experience, Skills, And Knowledge Required For The Role

  • Doctorate degree in either Clinical or Counselling Psychology.
  • HCPC registered
  • Chartered Membership with BPS
  • 5 years post qualification experience as a psychologist.
  • Experience working within an organisational setting adhering to their policies and procedures.
  • Experience working with high trauma on a regular basis
  • Experience managing clinical risk
  • Substance misuse experience in advantageous
