Hourly: $26.63 - $28.89

Part-time Faculty: B.S. Construction Management

Location: Remote, California

Position Summary

The Department of Engineering, Data, and Computer Sciences, in the College of Business, Engineering and Technology at the National University invites applications for part-time faculty with a specialization in Construction Management. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of, or potential for excellence in, the following: teaching in their field, a commitment to serving the university’s diverse adult student body, and related scholarship and/or research. This position primarily works closely with the Academic Program Director and other faculty within the program and contributes to ensuring program quality, student engagement, and success.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
  • Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.)
  • Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
  • Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
  • Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or terminal degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline required; Ph.D. Preferred.
  • Three plus (3+) years of hands-on experience in the construction industry including current practices, trends, regulations, and laws required.
  • Two plus (2+) years of faculty teaching experience in higher education required.
  • Experience teaching online required.
  • Experience in curriculum development preferred.
