Job Description:

Our work depends on Sr Manager, Supply Chain joining our team to oversee a team of Category Managers who will develop innovative strategies for indirect and direct spend categories. You will report to the Sr. Director of Category, Supply Chain Risk and Program Management and will work closely with the Sr. Managers and staff of Strategic Sourcing and Procurement to ensure strategies are fully understood, executed as designed, and adjusted as additional market knowledge is gained through sourcing activities and monitoring supplier performance.

The primary role in this position is to lead the team of Category Managers who will create and update category strategies (with input from key stakeholders across the enterprise) across a number of categories and communicate the strategies to those persons and groups responsible for implementing the strategy. Category strategies focus on maximizing the value obtained from each supply market balancing competing demands including state and federal regulatory requirements imposed upon GDIT by its customers, such as the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR); the market strength of GDIT; and the realities of supply markets. 

This position requires strong leadership skills; being well organized, proactive, ability to work without much guidance; and exceptional time management skills.


HOW A SUPPLY CHAIN SR MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Establish, maintain, and leverage matrixed relationships with key suppliers
  •  Conducting and presenting detailed supplier market research.
  • Work closely with internal departments and customer-facing programs to understand, document, and analyze current and forecasted category demands.
  • Develop strategies for gaining the best value from supply markets, based on the above spend, stakeholder engagement, and market and supplier analysis.
  • Engage sourcing and procurement teams to execute agreed-upon category strategies and ensure successful execution and ongoing management of the category strategies.
  • Regularly evaluate categories and adjust strategies as appropriate based on changing market conditions, internal demand, and supplier performance.
  • Ensure category strategies balance the various regulatory requirements imposed upon GDIT Supply Chain by its customers, including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), market strength of GDIT, and the realities in the various markets to maximize value obtained from each supplier. 
  • Ensure active engagement on all GDIT Supply Chain Management Committees, reporting on measurable achievements on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for maintaining and maturing GDIT’s strategic supplier relationship program
  • Work closely with other functional organizations to pre-emptively and proactively address supplier risk issues.
  • coaching, mentoring, training and ensuring compliance with policy, process and procedures associated with managing the Category Management department
  • Responsible for supporting the Sr. Director of Category, Supply Chain Risk, and Program Management in aspects of budgeting, staffing and organizational management
  • Ensure regular updates to executive leadership on key performance indicators and quarterly goal attainment


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or additional 4+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience in corporate supply chain management (experience in a Fortune 500 Aerospace and Defense Company preferred).
  • Must have experience leading a team
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully implement complex corporate programs across a matrixed environment
  • Experience leading highly skilled teams in conducting market research and analyzing supply markets
  • Ability to develop specific sourcing strategies and negotiating approaches to be used by Strategic Sourcing in executing category strategies
  • Understanding of FAR, compliance/regulatory and audit implications on category strategies
  • A strong customer focused background with strategic thinking capability
  • Demonstrated knowledge of full lifecycle SCM-related topic areas (including Pre-Award, Execution, Financials)
  • Ability to use data visualization tools and other methods to present complex analyses
  • Experience with developing negotiating strategies
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships including performing vendor performance evaluations
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel

The likely salary range for this position is $110,614 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
