  • Suggest workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and report on conditions affecting client satisfaction.

Hourly Rate: $22-26/hr. ($45,760-$54,080 annually)

Job Summary

Assist P&C Insurance Agents by reviewing Commercial new business quotes, property inspection reports, and endorsements to determine insurability following client and company guidelines. 

Addresses P&C Underwriting concerns, obtains all required documentation, and takes underwriting action on non-compliant submissions within company guidelines by performing the following duties.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides service to internal and external customers via written and verbal communication on policy coverage risk and/or structure approvals or denials that meet client and company standards.
  • Reviews P&C applications for insurance coverage, reports from loss control consultants, wind mitigation and property inspections, and other information to determine if application is acceptable for the available client program(s).
  • Evaluates and determines policy cancellation or reinstatement, modification of coverage form or limit within client and company guidelines.
  • Evaluates the risk of a risk against the class of business under review.
  • Evaluates the loss potential due to catastrophe, severity, and/or frequency.
  • Processes transactions and adjusts records as necessary and within company policy and procedure guidelines.
  • Analyzes transactions, searches available records using computer, printouts and/or company files.
  • Reports on any and all unusual conditions affecting client satisfaction.
  • Suggests workflow and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Reviews, organizes, and forwards information to other areas for handling or consideration.
  • Communicates effectively with individuals/teams and reports any problems to the Supervisor.
  • Other duties may be assigned. 

Education & Experience

  • At least 2 years of Agency or underwriting experience in Commercial Lines including homeowners and other lines; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred, or equivalent work experience.
