The News Editor will have extensive experience covering all aspects of U.S. news, including politics, current affairs, and culture. They will have several years of newsroom experience working at a reputable publication, including experience line managing individuals and conducting performance management.
Demonstrating a familiar ease with using the internet and other tools to gather and report on news for a digital publication, the News Editor will be well-versed in the latest trends and conversations in the American zeitgeist. They will be familiar with quickly responding to breaking news, running live blogs, and commissioning and overseeing original and exclusive reporting and interviews.
The News Editor will assist in leading Newsweek’s U.S. news coverage. They will be adept at all aspects of digital news production, including writing, editing, and publishing stories and live blogs to a high editorial standard. They will possess sound editorial judgment and a comprehensive understanding of media law. They will be agile, learning and adapting to new tools, platforms, methods and techniques for news reporting in a fast-paced digital newsroom.
Working hours: This is a full-time role, working 5 days a week depending on the needs of the company.
Place of Work: Our office is based in London but you will have the ability to work from home anywhere in the UK.
