Job Description

Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Provide continuous maintenance and troubleshooting support to service centers to ensure sustained automated vision inspection system performance
  • Support vision inspection system quality performance and capability improvement programs
  • Monitor and support automated inspection system performance, consistency and predictability
  • Support automated machine vision and learning system integration for new development projects
  • Work with wider teams to improve regional operations performance to achieve shared targets
  • Work with wider teams to deploy and sustain defined best practices and continuous lessons learned

CHEP has implemented a variety of automated machine vision and machine learning based inspection systems to complete the quality inspection of its products. These technologies are deployed and operational globally.

This resource will remotely and field support technical problem solving and support activities to achieve quick resolutions to performance and efficiency challenges with the automated machine vision / machine learning systems. This resource will also assist deployment and support future projects associated with implementing machine vision and machine learning inspection systems in the CHEP Americas Region.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Technical Engineer
  • Desirable:  Computer/Software/Electrical Engineer
  • Functional know-how is critical to this position.
  • Machine Vision systems knowledge and technical understanding with cameras, lasers and other lighting techniques.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Technical understanding of machine vision technologies such as 3D laser profiling, stereoscopic systems, 2D/3D cameras, lighting techniques, ToF pattern projection, inspection program design, etc.
  • Technical Support experience with machine vision / machine learning systems
  • Technical Training experience with machine vision / machine learning systems
  • Problem solving skills and working under pressure
  • Self-starter / ability to operate without much supervision
  • Teamwork

Desirable:

  • Rockwell PLC concepts understanding
  • SQL database experience
  • Ability to work in a Matrix Organization
  • Six-Sigma & Lean methodology
  • Spanish
