Job description

Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in reviewing and enhancing current financial practices, establishing a robust financial structure, and generating comprehensive financial reporting. The Finance Manager will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial management and providing visibility into operational costs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Immediate Financial Review & Structure:

  • Review current financial processes and data management practices.
  • Implement a foundational financial structure, including monthly closing processes.
  • Prepare monthly financial packages, including Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss Statements, and Cash Flow Statements.

2. Expense Management:

  • Establish expense categorization and control mechanisms to ensure visibility into monthly operating costs.

3. Monthly Financial Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain a Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) report, highlighting key financial trends, risks, and business health metrics.

4. Daily Accounting Management:

  • Oversee daily accounting activities, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), cash flow management, treasury functions, and reconciliations.
  • Provide strategic support in budgeting, forecasting, inventory management insights, and financial analytics.
  • Develop dashboards and KPIs to monitor critical business performance metrics, such as customer acquisition costs, order values, refund rates, and inventory efficiency.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to identify hidden costs within operational processes, uncovering opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Analyze profitability across various segments to identify areas for maximizing profit potential.
Qualifications:
  • Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is a plus.
  • Proven experience in financial consultancy or leadership roles in finance.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, reporting, and data management.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with inventory management and multi-channel sales strategies is a plus.

Performance Path:

  • 30 days - review processes and gain understanding. Work with current outsourced accountants to learn their current process and take stock.
  • 60 days - take over process from old accountants and begin to shape new processes.
  • 90 days - execute new processes and take full lead.
