Job Description
Heathrow are responsible for the management of the Heathrow Infrastructure. Costain have been appointed to two frameworks, one for management of all assets within Terminal 2 (Asset Renewal Programme ARP) and the second framework is to carry out agreed major projects on the infrastructure (Major Project Program MPP).
You will work together as part of the Integrated Heathrow Project Team where every member of Costain and Heathrow are now an integrated together as the Team Heathrow. You will be working alongside our Heathrow colleagues based at the Compass Centre.
Responsibilities
Assisting the Senior Finance Manager to work with key staff and teams across the contract to successfully manage the financial performance of the contract.
- Project accounting, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial and cost information on the contract.
- Preparation of Monthly Financial Reports as part of the Month End process.
- P&L Balance Sheet Reconciliations and Cash Management
- Management of the TEFA Timesheet system to ensure all costs are captured accurately and controls are in place where required.
- Assisting the wider contract and team members with processing purchase orders, goods receipting answering general queries, such as supplier payments.
- Supporting the monthly application process through the production of financial and cost reports and dealing with transactional queries
- Supporting the Management of E1 Finance systems to ensure that costs and timesheets can be reported in line with the contract as well as internal and external reporting requirements.
- Contribute to the commercial objectives of the contract to achieve value for money and support the cost-effective delivery of work.
- Support with Internal and external Audits.
Month End Requirements & Processes
Assisting the Senior Finance Manager to deliver all the requirements involved in the month end reporting requirements and processes.
- Preparing and posting accurate Journals, Accruals and Prepayments in line with Accounting Policies and accurate cost allocations.
- Reviewing and scrutinising all financial transactions and challenging where appropriate ensuring the integrity and accuracy of revenues and costs.
- Producing actual cost reports for Commercial and supporting with Cost Value Reconciliations.
- Support Projects and teams to under the financial performance of their areas
- Ensuring that financial controls are adequate and in place, and all processes are performed in accordance with The Costain Way and Costain financial procedures.
Cash Management
Responsible for the preparation of sales invoices, ensuring the accurate entry of invoices and corresponding cash entries in Costain’s financial systems and take a key role in the timely collection of cash.
Staff Costs and Recharges
Assist with the recording and recharging of Staff costs, including IT, Company Vehicles, Company Mobile Phones, HO Professional Service staff, training charges etc.
Quality, Health & Safety and Environment (QHSE)
At all times proactively engage with and adhere to company procedures with regards to all aspects of QHSE
Qualifications
- Excel – competent in the use of spreadsheets / wider Microsoft packages
- Systems – ability to work with finance and timesheet systems.
- Accounting and Finance experience / Qualifications – qualifications are desirable but not essential must have a strong background of solid financial roles.
- Collaboration – ability to work with others and clients, with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience Desirable – NEC contracts, commercial procedures.
- Hybrid working arrangements – 3 days per week on site.
