Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology (E&TC or similar) with 10+ years of experience, including 5+ years in Data Center/Enterprise environments., Expertise in advanced Data Center technologies such as VxLAN, EVPN, and Apstra, along with strong knowledge of IP-related protocols like IS-IS, OSPF, and BGP., Hands-on experience with Linux servers, network services, and familiarity with SDN tools, particularly Apstra., Strong communication skills in English, with a minimum certification of JNCIP - Data Center, and preferred JNCIE..

Key responsabilities:

  • Deploy and maintain Juniper Data Center fabric, ensuring effective automation and troubleshooting using Apstra.
  • Provide guidance on software and feature updates related to Data Center fabric and Apstra to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Assist in implementation, integration, and migration planning, including preparation and validation of SOP/MOP.
  • Conduct informal training for customer and partner teams, perform validation testing, and regularly update high-level and low-level designs.

Position: Senior Resident Engineer – Data Center & IP Fabric SDN

Location: Hyderabad

About the Position:

The Resident Engineer to develop and maintain Data Center architecture & solutions expertise and apply network automation through Fabric SDN controllers such as Juniper Apstra to ease their implementations and operations.

This role is a full-time post-sales position on-site , working as part of a wider Juniper Advance Services team. This role do not require travel.

What is Juniper Apstra?

Apstra is Juniper’s newest acquisition, bringing state-of-the-art Data Center automation to its customers. It provides integrated design, deployment, and management of VXLAN / EVPN Clos fabric networks in a vendor-agnostic way through a single pane of glass. Using advanced automation technology, manual, bespoke design, and operational tasks have become a thing of the past.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle network level activities in deploying & maintaining Juniper DC fabric
  • Automation & troubleshooting of Juniper DC fabric with Apstra
  • Provide guidance for new software / feature update related to DC fabric & Apstra to improve operation environment.
  • Implement best practices for DC fabric & Apstra
  • Provide assistance with implementation, integration , migration planning and changes such as preparation and validation of SOP/MOP
  • Onsite presence during all business days and on call support post business hours
  • Work closely with TAC to provide on time RCA.
  • Informal training to customer & partner team (Operational aspect)
  • Validation testing
  • Regular update of HLD & LLD

Must Have Skills

  • Expert communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective consultancy, planning & communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work on multiple projects and manage customers appropriately.
  • The mature “customer first” focus
  • Excellent and deep hands-on and planning capabilities in advanced Data Center technologies – VxLAN, EVPN, MCLAG, IP Fabric, Apstra.
  • Strong knowledge of IP-related protocols, including IS-IS, OSPF, BGP, RSVP, LDP, QOS solutions, and IPv6 standards/protocols
  • Familiar with any DC fabric SDN/manager/orchestration tool ( Apstra).
  • Hands-on experience with Linux servers and network services (DHCP, SNMP, FTP, TFTP, DNS, NTP).
  • Basic knowledge of data structures, algorithms, HTTP/REST APIs
  • Familiar with Linux, Python, and version control systems such as Git
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Certification – Min JNCIP – Data Center, Preferred - JNCIE

Desirable Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (BE/ Btech – E&TC and similar) with overall 10+ Yrs exp & 5+ yr experience with Data Center/ Enterprise.

Desirable Skills:

  • JUNOS skills and strong hands-on capabilities with QFX, EX, SRX , PTX and MX Series products (troubleshooting).
