What does the position do?

This is a high-impact Category Management role focused on business development and aggressive growth in the AMD segment. The person in this role will own the product strategy, pricing, and positioning while working closely with direct and indirect sales teams to drive execution. They will develop and execute strategic plays, demand generation, and marketing initiatives to capture market share.

 

What is the impact within the company or BU?

This role is critical to achieving aggressive business growth, with a target of 200% Y/Y growth in a market expanding only 3-4%. The person in this role will be instrumental in outpacing market trends by driving creative sales motions, optimizing pricing strategies, and working closely with account teams to unlock new opportunities. Success in this position means significantly increasing HPE’s share in the AMD space and driving measurable revenue impact.

 

What is the level of the position and what abilities must the incumbent have?

This is a senior-level role requiring advanced expertise in category management, sales enablement, and business strategy. The ideal candidate must:

  • Be hungry – wake up every day with a drive to build and grow the business.
  • Have a proven track record of driving sales plays and delivering outsized growth.
  • Be strategic yet execution-oriented, balancing big-picture planning with hands-on execution.
  • Possess strong financial acumen, pricing expertise, and an ability to work across functions (sales, marketing, supply chain).
  • Be a trusted leader, able to influence sales teams, engage with senior leadership, and drive alignment across the business.
  • Typically 8-12 years of professional experience with a combination of Marketing, Sales, Business Planning experienced preferred.
  • Consumer and/or Commercial Partner management expertise. End User Acct management as an alternative.

If this is a sales role, then the listed salary range reflects combined base salary and target-level sales compensation pay. If this is a non-sales role, then the listed salary range reflects base salary only. Variable incentives may also be offered. USD Annual Salary: $116,500.00 - $274,000.00
