Job description

Background and context 

Tiko believes in a world where all youth have the power to choose where, when, and how they meet their sexual reproductive health needs. Our digital platform delivers scalable and verifiable sexual reproductive health services for young people in 7 markets in Sub Saharan Africa - Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, South Africa, Burkina Faso, Zambia and Nigeria. Tiko uses smart technology, partner networks and data-driven insights to break through the barriers to accessing integrated sexual health service (Sexual Reproductive Health, HIV, Menstrual health and Mental Health, services that prevent and manage Sexual and Gender Based Violence), through a network of stigma-free, healthcare facilities, pharmacies, and community-based organisations, by investing in partners that deliver results, at no cost to adolescents and young people.

Tiko is seeking an individual consultant to support risk analysis for our operations. This role requires a commitment of 5 working days per week over a three-month period. The consultant will be responsible for completing the following tasks:


Scope of Work 

  1. Familiarise with Tiko way of operating and the current objectives including arrangements in place to achieve program objectives.
  2. Familiarize yourself with our platform’s data analysis processes, including data modeling techniques and visualization, to provide insights, identify trends, and detect potential fraud. Use this information to recommend actions that support operational departments in successfully detecting, preventing, and reducing fraud.
  3.  You will also conduct the following;
    1. You create and maintain risk-related dashboards for local operations based on programme, donor, and operational needs.
    2. You develop and maintain reports that triangulate data that support the Risk Management function with regard to actors on our platform. You analyze our data to find risk and fraud patterns and report these to Risk Management.  
    3. You develop and maintain tools to analyze our risk data and identify trends. You turn these into clear reports and recommendations that help local and global teams take decisions on risks and that help them improve control of their processes. If needed, you also help with donor reporting


Consultant Qualifications:

    The individual must ideally meet the criteria below.

    • A finance or risk-focused qualification.
    • 6+ years experience in Data Analysis using Excel and Tableau.
    • A minimum of 3 years of working experience using Python or R
    • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, including when reporting your findings.
    • You can collaborate with multi-functional teams and are able to offer practical solutions where necessary.
    • You are a logical thinker and practical problem solver.
    • You have an eye for detail and follow through on tasks.
