Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio is seeking mission-minded Associates to join us as a full-time (37.5 per week) Director of Institutional Giving. Must reside in Ohio prior to start date.
SUMMARY
The Director of Institutional Giving is responsible for developing and managing Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio’s institutional fundraising efforts with foundations, governments, and corporations across the affiliate. The Director of Institutional Giving will work with the Institutional Giving team and PPGOH department leadership to raise funds that supports the organization’s mission and overall goals.
Under the direction of the Vice President of Development, the Director of Institutional Giving will cultivate, solicit, and steward existing funders, identify new funding opportunities, lead strategy for the institutional giving program, and directly manage the Institutional Giving team. This position will support the organization’s financial sustainability in the midst of a dynamic and changing health care landscape.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Establish institutional giving goals and drive successful achievement
- Serve as an ambassador to create and maintain strategic alliances with foundations, and local, state, and federal government agencies
- Identify key funding to support cross-departmental projects, programs, and campaigns and aid in the development of strong and compelling proposals, partnerships, and other development-related initiatives
- Work with Leadership Giving team to develop partnership concepts, events, and marketing and communications plans tailored to support specific programs and target audiences
- Direct grant proposal and report development and writing
- Lead and directly supervise Institutional Giving team members, setting and measuring challenging objectives, providing feedback, and mentoring to deliver their best performance
- Administer and hold primary responsibility for team budget
- With the support of finance and leadership teams, develop reporting to improve transparency relative to grants administrative and spending
- Serve as a Development Leadership Team member to envision continued growth for the department, build on long-term strategy, and optimize employee engagement
- Work with the Development Operations and Finance teams to ensure the accuracy of Institutional Giving tracking and analysis
- Actively contribute to an equity-informed and inclusive work environment by taking an active role in promoting practices that support diversity, inclusion, and belonging

QUALIFICATIONS

- Proven success in strategically identifying, cultivating, and maintaining long term relationships with funders
- Proven ability to cultivate, manage, and strengthen internal stakeholder relationships
- Excellent analytical and “connect the dots” thinking, with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, initiative, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively
- Working knowledge of current trends in charitable giving
- Impeccable writing and editing skills; ability to translate complex ideas and strategies into clear, concise and compelling narratives; experience with grant writing, reporting and management preferred.
- Comfort working independently and as team member with initiative and flexibility
- Ability to work with senior leadership to effectively match organizational interests and priorities to the interests of prospective donors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and skilled with constituent databases
- Passion for sexual and reproductive rights, and social justice
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior development and leadership experience. Other professional writing experience may be considered in lieu of previous fundraising experience.
