As the Communications Planning Director you will be responsible for the following:
Tell Compelling Stories: Turn complex data into engaging, inspiring narratives that captivate clients and teams alike. You’re not just presenting numbers—you’re crafting stories that drive action.
Break the Mold: Challenge the status quo and push the boundaries of what media strategy can do. Your “break-it” approach will unlock growth and create new case studies that showcase Tinuiti’s brilliance. Contribute provocative comms thinking to new business efforts as well as priority clients.
Collaborate Like a Pro: You are not above diving into details when partnering with the Client Directors and Integrated Channel Planning Director to ensure the comms strategy is represented in the media plans. You’ll partner closely with client teams to co-define briefings along with clients and lead discussions around identifying what comms needs to accomplish and the jobs to be done by media in order to meet client objectives.
Be a Trusted Advisor: Build deep relationships with clients and internal partners by becoming an expert in their business
Premium Category Guru: You’ll be the source of truth when it comes to deep category knowledge (beauty, luxury or premium fashion) and how we help our clients win. You’ll be responsible for ensuring your knowledge is shared across the agency and crafting comms strategies/plans that don’t just meet goals—they blow them out of the water. Think of yourself as the architect of our category expertise, using data and insights to build strategies that drive share, penetration, and results.
Teach and Inspire: You’re not just a strategist; you’re a mentor and a motivator.
Professional Qualifications:
7+ years of relevant experience with progressive levels of responsibility and business acumen in communication
Deeply understands audiences beyond demographics—what drives, their values, passions, and media behaviors and builds that understanding through data and research
Must have experience with traditional, digital and emerging media and an understanding of how they work together
Fluency with media, consumer, and trends research tools as well as desktop research
Ability to make strategic decisions quickly based on available research data
Proven experience and success in presenting communications plans to both media and marketing clients
Demonstrated critical thinking skill and strong problem-solving skills – navigates effectively through difficult issues, builds required consensus to drive business needs and results
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills – effectively presents formal POV internally and externally
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and quantitative/analytical skills
Strong Client presentation skills and business writing skills
Detail oriented and proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Experience in new business development and sales pitches
The hiring salary range for this role is $120,000 - $130,000 plus a discretionary performance bonus of up to 10% of base salary.
Hiring salaries are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, parity with other team members, and alignment with market data.
