How You Will Contribute:

Reporting to the Director of Business Operations, you will design, develop, and implement effective business processes across the technical support organization to assist the Global Customer Care Business Intelligence team. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement, define requirements, and implement strategies that streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.

The Process Architect will ensure that business processes are aligned with organizational goals and integrated seamlessly with existing systems and workflows.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop, design, and document business processes, including workflows, procedures, and operational models
  • Create process diagrams and flowcharts to represent current and future-state processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define process requirements and identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Design processes that align with organizational goals and compliance standards.
  • Providing interfaces for groups to leverage cloud automation processes
  • Enhancing engineering visualization tools
  • Implementing web interfaces to leverage our big data pipeline
  • Leading the adaption of new technologies to improve or replace reporting technologies

Other responsibilities include:

  • Assist in training staff on new processes and tools to ensure smooth adoption and change management.
  • Develop and implement change management plans to ensure that process improvements are effectively communicated and adopted by all stakeholders.
  • Support teams during the transition period and resolve any process-related issues.
  • Data Analysis – opportunity to apply statistical analysis, data modelling and visualization
  • Statistical knowledge – apply solid understanding of statistical concepts, specifically percentile, confidence intervals, and so on
  • Programming and Data Management – loading and building analytical models

The Must Haves:

  • Certification in process management or improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt), Lean, or Certified Business Process Professional (CBPP).
  • Experience with digital transformation and automation tools (e.g., RPA, ERP systems).
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Scrum). Post-secondary degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Test Driven Development
  • Understanding UX Best Practices
  • Knowledge of Web Security Best Practices
  • Hands on experience in software development with TypeScript, Angular and SCSS

Assets:

  • Code simplicity and performance in implementations

Pay Range:

The annual pay range for this position in US is $67,400 - $107,600. 

The annual pay range for this position in Canada is CAD 61,600 - CAD 98,400. 

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
