ABOUT THE TEAM
Technology is at the core of what we do. Basis Technologies' DSP Backend Engineering team designs and develops new features and integrations for Basis, our industry-leading, comprehensive software solution. Our platform processes over 350 billion events per day and uses AI and machine learning to automate and simplify the entire digital campaign process.
This team is all about scalability. We process massive amounts of data at high speeds, and work closely with Data Engineering, Data Science, and Business Intelligence teams to solve problems and create insights that benefit the industry as a whole.
WAYS YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE
In this role, you will be responsible for building out products that serve our customers while making changes on the backend to support our continued growth. Core functions include writing code and brainstorming clever ways to improve Basis’ highly scalable real-time bidding (RTB) platform, which processes more than 350 billion auctions, each within milliseconds, every day. Other ways you will contribute to the team include:
Design and implement readable, testable, and sustainable software for new product featuresBrainstorm, document, and propose ideas to support constant improvements to the platformArchitect horizontally scalable solutions to support the high-volume, low-latency demands of the DSPFind performance bottlenecks using Java profiling/monitoring tools, and apply architectural/software changes and GC-tuning optimizations to address themCollaborate with and coach team members on best practices, code reviews, and process improvementsPartner closely with AdTech experts to iteratively turn high-level requirements into technical deliverablesDemonstrate troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to resolve production issuesWHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE5+ years of software development experienceExcellent knowledge of Java and object-oriented design patternsExperience working with horizontally scalable systemsExperience with both relational and NoSQL databasesFamiliar with containerization technologies such as Docker and KubernetesExperience with all phases of the software development life cycleComfortable collaborating with others in an agile team environmentPassion for high-quality software design and best practicesBONUS POINTSBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fieldExperience taking the lead on the entire development lifecycle of large-scale projectsExcited by a fast-paced product development environmentPassion for Ad-TechOUR TECH STACKJava, Kotlin, and PythonMySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, Aerospike, ClickHouseKafka, ZooKeeperIntelliJ IDEA, Docker, Kubernetes
