Job description

This is a remote position.

This role is open for Vietnamese. The candidate can work remote first, then required to relocate to Australia in the future. 

Our client is fast growing startup, revolutionizing the retail industry with automation and AI-driven solutions in merchandising and assortment optimization. Their innovative approach addresses complex problems in space and range management, helping retailers enhance efficiency, agility, and profitability.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Develop and refine heuristic algorithms to solve complex retail and optimization problems.
  • Transform research ideas into production-ready, scalable code for our AI platform.
  • Manage large datasets, ensuring solutions are scalable and performant.
  • Design and implement high-performance data structures for real-time decisions.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure seamless algorithm integration and alignment with business needs.
  • Experiment with LLM-based methods to enhance automation and decision-making processes.
  • Apply operations research, combinatorial optimization, and machine learning techniques to improve algorithm efficiency.

    Requirements

    Must-Have:

  • Proven experience in heuristic algorithm development (e.g., genetic algorithms, simulated annealing, greedy algorithms).
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL with production-grade coding experience.
  • Experience deploying algorithms in cloud or on-prem environments.
  • Knowledge of data structures, graph algorithms, and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Ray, Dask, Spark) is a plus.
  • Experience with CI/CD, testing, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Enthusiasm for LLM-based AI and a strong willingness to experiment with new AI techniques.
  • GitHub portfolio showcasing personal or side projects related to algorithm development.

  • Experience in retail optimization, logistics, or supply chain.
  • Understanding of reinforcement learning or combinatorial optimization.
