Objective:
The Content Strategist is a master storyteller and communicator. This role builds and leads brand and campaign content strategy, framework and optimization across multiple audience segments and delivery channels to attract, engage, build trust, preference and loyalty for our distributors and consumers.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the UX Content Strategist, Creative Strategist and key stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure strategies are aligned with the goals of the organization and will work closely with writers and designers to consult on execution. Define and document content strategies that align with marketing and business objectives Deeply understand business goals, audience segments and journeys, with a focus on audience needs and pain points Define content pillars and key messaging that aligns with our brand identity Develop content distribution strategies across channels (websites, social media, email, paid media, direct mail, trade shows, etc.) Maintain a comprehensive content calendar outlining content themes, formats and publication schedules Generate engaging content ideas across different formats including blog posts, articles, videos, infographics and more Work with research team and analytics team to align on best practices, inform development and optimize content based on insights and performance Use keyword and SEO research provided by agency partners to understand customers’ needs and search trends Effectively present strategies and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders, to gain alignment and ensure feedback is considered without compromising the defined objective and messagingDeliver compelling presentations that sell ideas and guide teams executing the work Collaborate with teams of writers and designers executing the vision and strategy, auditing and/or signing off on work to ensure the production of high-quality content, consistency of brand guidelines and flawless execution of the content strategy Understand and communicate technical subjects clearly, concisely and engagingly Guide best practices in content, including copywriting and storytelling techniques Review SEO and social media recommendations from AOR to ensure alignment to content strategy. Review existing content, identifying gaps and opportunities, to inform decisions when developing content strategiesUnderstand products and services and how they are nuanced across distribution channels Follow the marketing process to meet legal, compliance and internal audit standards Qualifications/Education10+ years in marketing content strategy or professional experience in a related role Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications or related field Proven track record as an innovative and collaborative content strategist – with a background in B2B marketing (specifically financial services, and ideally in life and annuities), copywriting or journalism Extensive knowledge of content distribution strategies, including social media and email marketing Experience conducting content audits and inventories Strong analytical skills, ability to manage multiple projects, and enthusiasm for data-driven marketing High-level thinker who also has a penchant for keeping track of details Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization Experience in influencing, mentoring and coaching a team of creative professionals Impeccable judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills Exceptional grammar and clear, concise and engaging writing, including the ability to adapt writing style to appeal to different audiences and adhere to established brand voices Excellent and persuasive communicator, with the ability to advocate for content and facilitate alignment on solutions with various partners Employee Benefits:
