We are seeking an experienced Senior Director, CRM and Lifecycle Marketing to lead our customer engagement strategies across the entire customer journey. In this role, you will drive customer acquisition, engagement, retention, and loyalty by developing and implementing sophisticated CRM and lifecycle marketing programs that deliver measurable business results.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive CRM and lifecycle marketing strategy that supports business goals and enhances customer lifetime value
Design, develop, and deploy customized CRM solutions that align with business requirements
Configure CRM platforms using Iterable
Develop integrations and automations to extend CRM functionality
Manage email deliverability best practices and monitoring using tools like Sendtric, Everest Validity, and Iterable's native delivery tools
Lead a team of marketing professionals focused on customer journey optimization, email marketing, push notifications, SMS, and in-app messaging
Design, implement, and optimize automated customer journeys and triggered campaigns across multiple touchpoints
Develop and execute sophisticated SMS and push notification strategies that drive engagement while respecting customer preferences
Oversee the creation and optimization of SMS campaigns, including promotional messages, transactional alerts, and two-way messaging experiences
Build strategic push notification programs that increase app engagement, retention, and conversion through timely, relevant messaging
Lead cross-channel orchestration to ensure seamless customer experiences across email, SMS, push notifications, and other communication channels
Implement compliance protocols for SMS and push communications, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and industry best practices
Create and maintain HTML/CSS code snippets and scripts for marketing templates
Analyze performance metrics for SMS and push notification campaigns and optimize based on engagement data
Partner with Analytics to establish robust measurement frameworks for accurately tracking campaign performance and customer lifecycle metrics
Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and IT teams to enhance customer data infrastructure and marketing technology capabilities
Collaborate with business analysts to translate requirements into technical specifications
Debug issues and provide timely resolution to system problems
Implement best practices for CRM development, including proper documentation
Ensure data quality and integrity within the CRM ecosystem, including architecting and maintaining JSON structures
Oversee customer segmentation strategies and develop targeted approaches for different customer cohorts based on behavior and value
Drive continuous experimentation and optimization of lifecycle programs through rigorous A/B and multivariate testing
Provide technical guidance and support to team members
Stay current with CRM platform updates and new features
Prepare and present regular performance reports to executive leadership, highlighting key insights and recommendations
Technical Skills
Expert knowledge of email marketing, push notifications, SMS, and in-app messaging strategies
Proficiency with Iterable
Experience with mobile marketing platforms and push notification services
Hands-on knowledge of SMS marketing platforms and regulatory requirements
Experience with customer data platforms (CDPs) and data management platforms (DMPs)
Understanding of customer segmentation methodologies and predictive modeling
Knowledge of email deliverability best practices and monitoring tools
Technical understanding of JSON structures and data architecture
Familiarity with A/B testing frameworks and statistical significance
Working knowledge of relevant privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
HTML/CSS coding abilities for template creation and maintenance
Optimized email deliverability rates and performance
Successful implementation and adoption of CRM customizations and automations
Qualifications
10+ years of progressive experience in CRM, lifecycle marketing, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Proven track record of developing and scaling successful lifecycle marketing programs that drive measurable business outcomes
Demonstrated experience building and optimizing SMS and push notification strategies within a broader omnichannel marketing approach
Deep expertise in marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and customer data platforms
Experience with SMS and push notification platforms and understanding of technical requirements for successful implementation
Experience configuring and customizing enterprise CRM platforms
Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for email and messaging templates
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Creative teams
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred
