Job description

This is a remote position.

Job Highlights:

Contract: Independent Contractor
Scope:

  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm Pacific with an hour unpaid break
  • Managing payroll for 7 different companies
  • Primary focus on 2 main businesses with 100+ total employees
  • Responsible for monthly payroll processing
  • Handle year-end tax documentation (T4s)
  • Direct reporting to business owner
  • Remote work position

Responsibilities:

  • Process monthly payroll for 100+ employees across multiple companies
  • Manage both salary and bonus payment structures
  • Prepare and process T4 forms for all employees
  • Handle payroll records and documentation
  • Process monthly bookkeeping tasks
  • Record and track financial transactions
  • Maintain accurate employee payment records across multiple entities
  • Coordinate with management assistant for document handling
  • Process payroll for construction (75 staff) and winery/brewery operations (25 staff)
  • Handle additional companies’ financial documentation as needed

Requirements
  • Experience with Canadian payroll processing and regulations
  • Knowledge of T4 preparation and filing requirements
  • Proficiency in payroll and accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience handling multi-company payroll operations
  • Understanding of Canadian tax regulations and compliance
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
