Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Research and identify prospective suppliers and manufacturers
• Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers
• Analyze and compare supplier pricing to determine the best deals
• Develop and execute sourcing and procurement strategies
• Monitor and assess supplier performance
• Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts
• Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to forecast the future supply needs
• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
• Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers
• Implement and drive continuous improvement activities through implementation of change management process and best practices
What your background should look like:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the following areas:
- Procurement and/or Strategic Sourcing
- Supplier Management
- Supplier Performance Monitoring (strongly preferred)
- Manufacturing Industry Exposure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with other relevant tools
- Experience with SAP PR2 or S/4 HANA (preferred)
- Solid knowledge of data analysis tools
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Project management experience (preferred)
- Proven ability to design and implement globally impactful sourcing strategies
- Strong understanding of Contract Manufacturing Models (highly desirable)
- Contract evaluation and negotiation with suppliers
- Supplier development and performance evaluation
- Cost analysis of manufacturing with suppliers or contractors
