  • Support developers in utilizing observability practices effectively within the developer platform.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on observability for colleagues and the platform community.
  • Develop and integrate best practices into the observability tooling.

At Civica, Observability Engineers play a critical role in enhancing the reliability and performance of our systems through comprehensive monitoring and observability tooling and practices. This position involves designing and implementing observability tooling that leverage metrics, logs, and traces to provide deep insights into system behaviour and performance. Our Observability Engineers enhance the developer experience by delivering the tooling which empowers our development teams to identify key performance indicators, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application performance.

Requirements

You will be an experienced platform engineer who posses the following skills:

  • Datadog (preferred), Honeycomb, Prometheus/Grafana 
  • Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services 
  • DevOps concepts & practices 
  • At least one DevOps-friendly programming language, preferably Go 
  • SRE

  • K8s (inc. AKS/EKS) and Docker 
  • Terraform 
  • Datadog 
  • Github / Azure DevOps
