Job description

We are seeking a fully remote Payroll Coordinator. This position is responsible for all assisting/processing activities necessary to accurately process payroll in a multistate environment. This includes pay, deductions, benefits, tax withholdings, garnishments, leaves, PTO and adjustments. Additionally, the Payroll Coordinator will assist/ensure compliance and timely payments for merit, bonuses, and filings with all federal, state and local entities.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8a – 4:30p based on the individual’s time zone.


Responsibilities:

  • Support/prepare and process regular, adjustment, bonus and off-cycle payrolls including during period tracking and processing of employee status changes/updates.
  • Set up, coordinate and perform applicable processes to withhold and pay all ancillary deductions, wage garnishments and benefits.
  • Process/enter employee data (i.e., demographics, pay, etc.) accurately.
  • Assist/facilitate company reporting and information processing to update internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support/perform tasks related to applicable filing and payment of payroll tax and withholding payments in an accurate and timely manner including any applicable system-based journal entries.
  • Provide timely and accurate customer service to internal and external customers with questions and/or requests including employee inquiries, HR-related support, auditors and others as applicable.
  • Aid/ensure compliance and timely quarter end and year end payroll and unemployment reporting requirements for all required federal, state and local agencies.
  • Understand the company’s internal systems and processes to allow for growth in knowledge of how they interact and to provide internal customer assistance


Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of payroll systems - online preferred.
  • Experience with DayForce strongly preferred.
  • Two to five years payroll experience.
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable.
  • Ability to function in an advanced technical environment from an office/home/hybrid setting including but not limited to the understanding and use of complex accounting software, spreadsheets, general computer functions and other office tools.
  • Highly organized and excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, creative thinking and customer service skills.
  • “Can do” attitude and ability to follow issues through to resolution.
  • Capability to interact and effectively communicate with internal and external parties.
  • Must possess the ability to embrace change and understand impacts especially as it relates payroll.
  • Able to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines.
