The Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) is an independent government agency which, in partnership with Basin governments, manages the Murray–Darling Basin’s water resources in the national interest. With the enactment of the Water Act 2007, the MDBA was established as an independent expertise-based statutory agency.

The Position
The APS6 PMO role sits in the MDBA’s Enterprise Portfolio Management Office, which forms part of our Business Services Division’s Strategy, Performance and Portfolio Management Branch. The team is responsible for supporting the effective governance, oversight and assurance of the MDBA’s investment portfolio. The role is focused on supporting project and program teams to optimise their delivery outcomes and to provide the MDBA’s executive with performance reporting that enables them to make informed and dynamic decisions across the investment portfolio.
The PMO will work closely with internal stakeholders to increase the quality of project and program level planning and reporting. They will also support project health checks, professional development activities and internal standards reviews aimed at increasing project and program delivery capabilities across the agency.
Your Key Responsibilities In This Role Are To
Develop, maintain and promote best practice project and program management standards to support effective change delivery across the MDBA.
Provide accurate and meaningful reporting, analysis and recommendations on individual project/program health, the overall performance of the MDBA’s investment portfolio and other ad hoc reports.
Support project delivery assurance reviews aimed at improving delivery outcomes and increasing project management capabilities.
Support the prioritisation of new investment proposals to optimise the strategic value of the MDBA’s investments in change.
Contribute to the other activities aimed at the effective governance, oversight and assurance of the MDBA’s investment portfolio.
