An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Information Governance Team to cover maternity leave in the role of Information Governance Officer from August 2025 for a period of 9 months with the potential to extend to 12 months.
The role will include logging and handling Freedom of Information and Environmental Information Regulation requests for information and assisting with other duties within the team, such as records management.
Supporting the Information Governance Team the post is essential for the effective management of information requests within the council and compliance with information request legislation. The post is varied and involves gaining an understanding of many areas of the council.
We are looking for a pro-active person who can communicate internally with officers at all levels and externally with customers, who is organised and who can manage many competing deadlines.
Ideally you will have some Information Governance experience, but training will be given.
The team works on a hybrid arrangement with the successful applicant expected to work in the office in Scunthorpe for a minimum of 2 days per week on a Tuesday and Wednesday, with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining 3 days.
