Responsibilities Under supervision, perform routine to complex environmental engineering and compliance tasks requiring application of scientific theory and concepts in a particular field to several aspects such as, data entry, data review and analysis, studies, testing, permitting, compliance, auditing, inspections, regulatory analysis, to support compliance with existing and new environmental regulations and programs in the water quality and was etc. Perform administrative work relating to assignments. Will have direct involvement with the Company's Environmental Management System (EMS) and coordination and management of the Environmental Management Information System (EMIS). Effective performance achieved through application of internal and professional practices and economics to assure compliance with all rules, regulations, and permits while maintaining reliable, cost-effective service Required Education Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, biology, natural/physical science, physics or equivalent. Candidates completing their degree by June 30, 2025 will be considered. Required Experience No experience required Experience with electric utility environmental regulations and compliance is preferred. Special Requirements This position may be considered for a hybrid work arrangement based on ALLETE’s needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the employee's position will be a blend of work performed both in-person and at an offsite location such as an employee's home office. This position will report to Duluth, MN Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as some travel may be required. This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude. Benefits The expected annual compensation range for this position is $57,000 – $70,000. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, this position qualifies for a comprehensive benefits package, including an Incentive Program, Retirement Benefits, Medical, Dental & Vision Plans, Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Account, Life Insurance, Disability, Tuition Reimbursement, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences, and more.
