Job Summary
The Analyst role within Market Data Services is responsible for the many management aspects of the Market Data environment at Raymond James, which encompasses the enterprise in its entirety.
The role requires close interaction with all Raymond James business units and teams pertaining to Market Data products and services, and also requires vendor management experience in the financial industry. You will be engaged in the management of Market Data applications and users, use your analytical skills to build & design reporting capabilities, and will participate in and assist with strategic initiatives to optimize the use of related services.
Responsibilities
Assist with Market Data management, general administration, reporting activities, process management and data analysis.
Build and maintain strong relations with Market Data providers, exchanges, and business partners, and use your existing understanding of services and capabilities to ensure optimal use of data and products.
Assist with managing user, application and platform inventory through Optimize Spend (OS) tool, including regular maintenance & upkeep of OS.
Understand, interpret and define business requirements in order to provide suitable advice and guidance.
Exceptional customer and business support skills required and comfortable with engaging in direct contact with users.
Effectively interact with stakeholders, and other operational and technology teams to assist with the delivery and implementation of solutions.
Assist in monitoring and supporting the day to day activities for the request of any new or existing Market Data services and applications.
Maintain & update existing process documentation and add new processes when relevant.
Assist with user and application usage analysis, and vendor & exchange reporting requirements as needed.
Utilize relevant Business Intelligence tools & capabilities to perform data analysis and reports as required per business requirements.
Act as an escalation point for related operational activities (e.g. subscription or billing queries).
Assist with project functions during rollouts, upgrades, acquisitions etc.
Aid in ensuring compliance with contractual terms of agreements being utilized by business units.
Monitor & participate in Market Data activities to maintain knowledge of the industry.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills/Previous Experience
Ideally two (2) to three (3) years of relevant experience is preferred.
Experience working with Market Data Vendor applications such as FactSet, Eikon/Workspace, Bloomberg, Morningstar etc. in addition to knowledge of vendors, exchanges and Index providers is preferred.
Knowledge of Optimize Spend (FITS) or an equivalent tool is highly preferred and beneficial.
Knowledge of the financial markets is a benefit.
Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work in deadline-oriented environment.
Excellent communication and relationship management skills, ability to effectively communicate at all business levels.
Proficient using the Microsoft Office suite.
Knowledge of Tableau (or similar BI tool) is preferred.
Project management experience is beneficial.
