Job description

Meet: Active powered by Business Fitness

Founded: 2001

Industry: Fintech (Accounting)

Location: Australia [Remote]

Employees: 40+

Work style: 100% remote

The Story

Not your average accounting tech company.

Born in Australia and now expanding globally (and taking the UK by storm), Active powered by Business Fitness creates products that meet the unique compliance, reporting, workflow, and document management needs of SMB and enterprise accounting firms. Their ecosystem of solutions boosts efficiency, standardisation, and practice growth for firms across the globe.

Equal parts tech innovator and industry insider, Business Fitness has spent over two decades empowering accountants to work smarter. Now, with a newly built cloud-native product, Active, and big enterprise wins (including 4 of the top 6 accounting firms and approximately 50% of the AFR top 100 accounting firms in Australia), they're scaling rapidly.

It's an exciting time to join the team and help shape the future of accounting tech.

The Role

This is a great opportunity to step into an important role as Implementation & Training Manager. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, you’ll play a hands-on part in helping enterprise clients get the most out of their software—shaping how they onboard, implement, and see value quickly.

We're looking for someone who brings strong accounting credibility and practical experience in public practice—someone who knows firsthand the pressure points firms face and can speak their language confidently. You’ll likely have worked recently in business services and have used Business Fitness products like Active Ledger & Reporting yourself, giving you the insight and empathy to support clients through nuanced, high-value implementations.

This role exists because Business Fitness is scaling rapidly, especially across its enterprise client base. With more top-tier firms adopting the product, we need someone who can own the training journey—guiding clients through complex deployments, educating teams across multiple locations, and making sure they’re set up for long-term success. This is a builder’s role—not about layers of hierarchy, but about rolling up your sleeves, improving how we deliver training, and setting the rhythm for the function as it matures.

You will:

  • Deliver tailored training sessions for enterprise clients, ensuring a smooth trial experience through to final onboarding
  • Support and guide a small team of training specialists in day-to-day delivery
  • Partner closely with Enterprise Account Managers to coordinate seamless implementations
  • Assist with deploying software solutions into large accounting firms
  • Troubleshoot client issues and offer clear, practical solutions
  • Feed client insights back to the product and development teams to help improve features
  • Help create and deliver educational content for complex accounting and tax use cases

What You Bring to the Role

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Recent public practice experience
  • Hands-on experience with Business Fitness products, specifically Active Ledger & Reporting (essential)
  • Strong accounting knowledge to confidently address complex client questions (essential)
  • Experience as an Accounting Manager, Client Manager, Team Lead or Supervisor in a public practice accounting firm
  • Exposure to complex client scenarios including consolidations, statement of cash flows, primary production, and general purpose financial reporting
  • Client-facing training experience and confidence in presentation delivery
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong ability to plan, organize and prioritize work efficiently
