Supports Sales and Service by gathering / updating appropriate purchasing data, updating material master information, placing purchase orders, maintaining product forecasting. Assists Procurement Manager as Procurement liaison for department projects and business segments as needed.
Nature and Background of Position:
Inventory & Material Planning
Plan and manage merchandise warehouse inventory in line with budget and operational needs.
Analyze inventory levels and classify sitting stock appropriately.
Develop and execute strategies to reduce slow-moving and discontinued product inventory.
Review and manage daily backorders, ensuring timely fulfillment.
Coordinate international and domestic inbound shipments.
Analyze logistics activities for cost savings and operational efficiency.
Prepare purchasing plans for management approval.
Act as SME/procurement representative on cross-functional projects.
Maintain lead times by vendor and product category.
Follow and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and CGMP requirements.
Assist in developing training procedures, guidelines, and SOPs.
Ensure professional, organized workspaces by establishing and maintaining LEAN 5S/6S principles.
Communicate inventory issues (e.g., shortages, delays) to management proactively.
Maintain customer satisfaction ratings, especially for MD Buy Line and DR support.
Provide product-level clinical and technical knowledge to support internal teams and external partners.
Monitor and improve personnel efficiency through standardized systems.
Clearly communicate product or personnel concerns to management.
Complete additional assignments and special projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or similar work experience. Clinical certification, Biomedical Engineering or license in related medical fields will also be highly considered. Experience in planning, forecasting, customer service, purchasing. Must be able to read and understand technical manuals and documentation. 1-2 years history of demonstrated success in work experience within the production / inventory management / customer service-related activity.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical manuals and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
