Job Title: Dispatcher and Transport Controller

Location: Remote, Cape Town

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: R20 000 25 000 pm neg

Job Overview:

London-based Private Hire Taxi Company seeks a Taxi Dispatcher with access to a reliable computer and high-speed internet connection. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating drivers, managing bookings, and ensuring efficient dispatching of vehicles to provide excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle incoming booking requests via phone, online platforms, and app-based services.

Assign jobs to drivers efficiently, optimizing routes and minimizing wait times.

Monitor driver locations, job statuses, and flight schedules to ensure smooth operations and timely pickups.

Communicate with drivers and customers in a professional and courteous manner.

Dispatch chauffeurs onto open booking requests from customers.

Monitor flight arrivals and departures to adjust dispatch schedules accordingly.

Proactively find solutions for urgent needs, including last-minute requests, flight delays and vehicle breakdowns.

Promote and establish a positive attitude while meeting productivity goals.

Follow up on customer issues to the point of resolution, keeping customers updated when needed.

Provide and receive constant, vivid and constructive feedback regarding customer and chauffeur satisfaction, as well as internal policies and procedures.

Handle internal administrative tasks such as monitoring priority clients and documenting individual queries independently.

Support workforce management when needed (e.g., short-notice shift changes).

Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations and company policies.

Keep costs to a reasonable level by making smart dispatching decisions.

Requirements:

Full-time commitment (no second jobs or part-time work allowed).

At least 3 year of experience in a dispatching role.

Applicants must demonstrate English fluency in both spoken and written communication.

Prior experience with dispatch systems is required, with proficiency in the Cordic dispatch system preferred.

Proficiency in GPS tracking systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Available to work 45-50 hours per week on a flexible schedule based on company needs (24/7 operational structure).

Must be highly flexible as shifts may change depending on operational demands.

Equipment Requirements:

Min an i5 computer with dual monitors and noise-cancelling headset.

LAN internet connection with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps and a backup internet source.

Quiet, well-lit working environment.

Not located in an area that suffers frequent power outages.

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor's/College Degree/National Diploma.

Additional certifications in transport management or logistics.

Personality Traits:

Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Highly reliable and punctual, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining company reputation.

Strong IT and system navigation skills, including dispatch software and GPS systems.
