Job description

Compensation: $115,000 - $140,000 per year. You are eligible for a Short-Term Incentive Plan with the target at 7.5% of your annual earnings; terms and conditions apply.

Sr. Software Engineer - Integrations – Remote, USA 

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex healthcare integration solutions. The ideal candidate will drive interoperability initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance system performance by leveraging industry standards such as HL7, CCDA, FHIR, and REST APIs. Meet with clients, partners, product owners, or other stakeholders to understand and clarify workflows and requirements. Highlight blockers or issues arising during development to resolve in a timely manner. This role requires strong leadership, technical acumen, and effective communication to manage cross-functional teams and vendor relationships. 

 Essential Functions

  • Lead and manage interoperability and integration projects within the healthcare domain
  • Design and implement robust integration solutions using healthcare data standards 
  • Oversee vendor management and ensure compliance with integration and regulatory standards
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize monitoring dashboards, alerts, and performance metrics
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate functional requirements into technical solutions
  • Other duties as assigned  

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience managing interoperability and integration projects in healthcare 
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare data standards (HL7, CCDA, FHIR, REST APIs) and integration technologies
  • Experience in managing AWS Cloud infrastructure, to support and enhance integrations 
  • Built and managed SFTP solutions, via AWS 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and advanced written and verbal communication skills for engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage vendors, ensure adherence to integration standards, and oversee monitoring/alerting mechanisms for integration performance

Preferred

  • Experience with key EMR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner, OncoEMR) and proficiency in MS Office
  • Tech-savvy with a strong focus on innovative, scalable solution design
  • Experience with LLMs 
  • Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Mirth, Cloverleaf) 
  • Experience supporting Oncology data pipelines 
  • Experience with Atlassian (JIRA and Confluence)
