Position Overview

The Senior Market Access Liaison is responsible for providing field sales support specific to coverage and reimbursement concerns which may be creating barriers to access for patients and physicians. This role will focus on the Precision Oncology portfolio and ensure that accurate, non-promotional messaging for field sales and for offices is provided to help remove any potential coverage and reimbursement barriers. This role will partner with various key stakeholders such as, but not limited to, sales, marketing, training, compliance, billing, and strategic accounts. In addition to supporting the field, this role will support the Market Access department with respect to our specialized appeals team, helping to improve the appeal process. The market access liaison will also support our revenue cycle team both internally, on our Epic platform, as well as externally, through our relationship with a third-party vendor.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead field sales support from a market access and billing perspective. Establish effective, trust working relationships with internal stakeholders ensuring proper education of market access landscape to support expanding access of testing to all appropriate patients.
  • Develop non-promotional field collateral aimed at supporting the market access message around coverage, contracting, out-of-pocket, and financial assistance.
  • Support appeals program for strategic payors.
  • Support PO training department as the market access content expert.
  • Gather field sales intel around competitive practices with respect to billing and reimbursement so internal stakeholders can be aware and support proper messaging, accordingly.
  • Identify opportunities to improve our customer experience through streamlined market access and billing support.
  • Work with the revenue cycle, legal and compliance teams to problem-solve and analyze to find creative solutions to patient barriers while remaining compliant.
  • Strong understanding of medical billing, explanation of benefits (EOBs), payor policies, contracting changes, and coverage updates.
  • Strong knowledge of ABN requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare 14-day rule.
  • Working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding, accounts receivable, HIPAA, and electronic data interchange (EDI) claims submission methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects and create new processes and workflows.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills and ability to think on your feet.

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field; or high school degree/general education diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
  • 2+ years Reimbursement and Billing Management experience within the healthcare services industry to include.
  • Working knowledge in the genomic, diagnostic, or oncology environment.
  • Working knowledge with commercial and government payers and reimbursement process.
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable regulations impacting billing in the healthcare industry and ability to apply that knowledge to new processes and policies.
  • Understanding of market-related issues, contract development, negotiation, and pull-through as well as the legal and regulatory implications associated with commercial and government payer management.
  • Knowledge of basic coding conventions and use of coding nomenclature consistent with CMS Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM coding.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Salary Range:

$85,000.00 - $135,000.00

 

The annual base salary shown is a national range for this position on a full-time basis and may differ by hiring location. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to be considered for company stock at hire and on an annual basis.
