ABOUT THE JOB

The Tepa Companies are seeking a Project Engineer - Structural will perform structural engineering design tasks such as load determinations, code research, structural design calculations, and drafting in CAD and Revit, under the supervision of a licensed PE. Responsibilities include assisting in the development of construction documents and coordinating construction administration responsibilities under the licensed Project Engineer’s supervision. These will include field measurements, calculations and drafting. 

This role is intended for May 2025 college graduates who majored in an applicable field. As Tepa continues to grow, we are focusing on hiring recent graduates to begin their careers at our organization with opportunities to receive hands-on learning, mentorship, and growth within the company. This is an entry-level position that does not require previous experience but does require completed education in the particular discipline. 

Job Functions:

  • Produces plans, reports, and assists with specifications
  • Assists in developing drafting and project standards
  • Assists in preparation of inspection reports
  • Performs quality control and quality assurance 
  • Performs structural analysis and calculations for design of structures and retaining walls
  • Performs structural drafting

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or structural engineering, from Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited college or university
  • 0-4 years of experience in a similar role or internship
  • Engineer in Training (EIT), and the ability to obtain PE within five years of hire.
  • Capability of working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Previous military experience; Preferred
  • Design experience at the state, local, or Federal government markets; Preferred
  • Knowledge of Building Codes (IBC) and Uniform Facilities Criteria (UFC) for DoD; Preferred
  • AutoCAD and Revit experience is desirable; Preferred
