This role involves taking over and managing a customer's Citrix environment until the migration to Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) is completed. Post-migration, the focus will shift to providing operational support for the AVD environment. This requires a very high level of expertise and deep technical knowledge across all three areas: Citrix, AVD, and Image Management. We are looking for a true professional who can deliver excellence in this critical role.
Technical Skills
Citrix
- Deep expertise in Citrix environments (Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix ADC, Citrix Workspace).
- Configuration and management of Citrix servers and infrastructure.
- Troubleshooting and performance optimization of Citrix systems.
- Implementation of security policies within Citrix environments.
- Experience with Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) and Machine Creation Services (MCS).
Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
- Expertise in designing, implementing, and managing AVD environments.
- Optimization and scaling of AVD deployments.
- Knowledge of integrating AVD with other Azure services (e.g., Azure Active Directory, Intune).
- Security hardening and policy implementation for AVD.
- Automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell) for efficient AVD management.
Image Management
- Creation and maintenance of operating system images (Windows 10/11 and Server).
- Best practices for Golden Images, including security and performance optimizations.
- Patch management and regular updates for images.
- Integration of applications and drivers into operating system images.
- Ensuring compatibility and stability of images within Citrix and AVD environments.
Other Relevant Technologies
- Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies for workplace environments (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructures, especially Microsoft Azure.
- Expertise in endpoint management using Microsoft Intune or SCCM.

- Experience with ITIL processes and service management.
- Knowledge of security standards and their implementation in workplace environments.
