Job Summary

Are you passionate about building fault-tolerant systems and reliable software? Acuity Brands is seeking Cloud Infrastructure Engineers with SRE/DevOps experience to join our Infrastructure Engineering team. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to design, deploy, scale, and maintain highly available architectures and hybrid cloud applications both on Prem with Netapp and Vmware as well as in the cloud with Azure.

 

Our team's focus is on quantifying and improving the availability, reliability, and performance of our products and services. You'll collaborate closely with product development and customer success teams to achieve these goals.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and scalability of our IT infrastructure and cloud applications. Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell or Shell.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code systems like Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or Terraform.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to characterize, measure, and monitor end-to-end service operations.
  • Performing proactive service maintenance, problem diagnosis, and incident management.
  • Leading incident resolution efforts and postmortems.
  • Designing and implementing monitoring and automation tools.
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience 
  • A system operations mindset focused on maintaining uptime and addressing disruptions.
  • Active Directory/Domain management experience
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with other engineering teams.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, C++, or Go.
  • Familiarity with monitoring systems such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Azure.
  • Experience with web networking, TLS, reverse proxies, and load balancing.
  • Extensive troubleshooting and security experience with Linux and Windows systems.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • A passion for solving complex problems and continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Incident response and/or incident management experience.
  • Experience with highly available distributed systems at scale.
  • Experience with IoT networks.
  • Experience defining SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
  • Agile project experience using Azure DevOps.
  • Bachelors is preferred

The range for this position is $80,400.00 to $144,700.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
