Job description

Jama Software® is focused on maximizing innovation success in multidisciplinary engineering organizations. Numerous firsts for humanity in fields such as fuel cells, electrification, space, software-defined vehicles, surgical robotics, and more all rely on Jama Connect® requirements management software to minimize the risk of defects, rework, cost overruns, and recalls. Using Jama Connect, engineering organizations can now intelligently manage the development process by leveraging Live Traceability™ across best-of-breed tools to measurably improve outcomes. Our rapidly growing customer base spans the automotive, medical device, life sciences, semiconductor, aerospace & defense, industrial manufacturing, consumer electronics, financial services, and insurance industries.

We are looking for a Compliance and Release Specialist to play a vital role in our software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality releases of Jama Software products and supporting compliance with certification programs. This position focuses on collecting, collating, and generating reports to maintain certifications, producing the Jama Validation Kit (JVK) to document engineering due diligence, and validating critical workflows for customer deployments. The specialist also supports release assurance by verifying release readiness and ensuring quality standards are met before deployment.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, quality-focused, and passionate about compliance. It requires adaptability to a fast-paced environment and the ability to support diverse assessments and regulations (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 26262). The Compliance & Release Specialist identifies, and reports compliance issues, recommends corrective actions, and collaborates with QA and engineering teams to deliver robust, compliant, and customer-ready releases.

What You'll Do:
  • Collaborate with Product Management, QA teams, and compliance stakeholders to maintain and improve the Safety Manual, Critical Workflow materials, and release processes.
  • Prepare and maintain control documentation (e.g., JVK, Safety Manual, policies, procedures, narratives, and matrices) with process/control owners.
  • Author and deliver the Jama Validation Kit (JVK) with each deployment of Jama Connect, documenting compliance and quality assurance outcomes.
  • Identify gaps or conflicts in release, testing, and validation processes, working with internal stakeholders to develop effective solutions.
  • Communicate program execution status, testing outcomes, key accomplishments, and risks clearly to management and stakeholders.
  • Participate in regression testing cycles, collaborating with QA teams to validate release readiness and document compliance prior to deployment.
  • Execute release plans, including test coverage analysis, defect tracking, and quality gate reviews, to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Verify that each release meets functional, safety, and performance standards by analyzing test results and coordinating with engineering teams to resolve issues.
  • Assist in refining QA tools, scripts, or automation processes to improve release validation and compliance tracking efficiency.
What You'll Bring:
  • 2+ years of experience in software quality, compliance, or release management, with a focus on requirements management or SDLC products.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant outcomes.
  • Practical experience with release testing, defect management, or quality assurance processes in a software development environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Familiarity with testing tools, automation frameworks, or release management systems is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products, particularly Excel.
  • Strong time management skills to balance compliance, testing, and release responsibilities effectively.
  • Analytical thinking skills with excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication skills, able to convey technical and compliance-related information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to be a collaborative team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
Perks and Benefits:
  • Virtual first and culturally diverse work environment spanning 8 countries.
  • Ambitious and fun work with a chance to define distinct, company-shaping tangible contributions.
  • Flexible time off and leave programs crafted to meet the needs for your rejuvenation and extra support to cope with life events with a quarterly $75 wellness reimbursement.
  • Comprehensive and affordable medical, dental and vision plans with pre-tax savings accounts and a generous 401(k) employer match.
  • 6+ weeks of paid parental leave to bond with your new family member.
  • Emphasis on learning and development at all levels with a subscription to LinkedIn Learning.
