Senior Energy Market Analyst (Integration & Modeling)

About the Position 

Energy Exemplar is seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Senior Analyst, Solution Modeling – Integration Services to lead the delivery of integration solutions across our energy platform ecosystem. This highly visible, client-facing role is key to driving successful implementations by bridging complex business needs with robust, scalable technical designs. 

As part of our Professional Services team, you’ll partner with clients across ISO and ERCOT markets to design, develop, and implement customized integration models that streamline data flow, enhance automation, and maximize the value of our software suite (including PLEXOS, Aurora, and Adapt2). This role requires strong technical acumen, system integration expertise, and the ability to engage clients strategically and tactically throughout the delivery lifecycle. 

• Lead the delivery of integration solutions for enterprise-scale clients, ensuring successful implementation from design to go-live. 

• Act as a trusted client-facing technical advisor, guiding integration strategy and execution across multi-stakeholder environments. 

• Partner with clients to capture technical and business requirements, analyze data workflows, and define end-to-end integration architecture. 

• Design and validate integration models using APIs, webhooks, and ETL pipelines, leveraging tools like Postman, Python scripts, and SQL queries. 

• Implement and test integrations between Energy Exemplar products and client systems (e.g., ETRM, ERP, CRM), with a strong focus on API data exchange and automation. 

• Ensure accurate data transformation through schema mapping, business logic validation, and reconciliation processes. 

• Apply deep knowledge of ISO and ERCOT market structures to tailor integration strategies to energy trading and operational workflows. 

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success teams to ensure scalable delivery and continuous product enhancement. 

• Utilize tools such as SQL, Python, and JavaScript for advanced data manipulation, automation scripts, and integration testing. 

• Lead client working sessions, provide regular project updates, and manage expectations throughout the implementation lifecycle. 

• Mentor junior analysts, contribute to reusable documentation/templates, and promote best practices across the integration practice. 

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical discipline. 

• 3–5+ years of experience in systems integration, solution consulting, or technical delivery—ideally within the energy, utilities, or software sectors. 

• Proven experience delivering enterprise integrations with REST/SOAP APIs, JSON/XML, and data pipelines. 

• Proficiency in SQL, including data querying, transformation, and troubleshooting. 

• Experience in Python and JavaScript for automation and scripting tasks. 

• Hands-on with API testing tools like Postman and integration monitoring/debugging tools. 

• Strong understanding of ETRM systems and integration requirements in ISO markets (especially ERCOT, CAISO, PJM, etc.). 

• Client-centric with excellent communication skills—able to synthesize technical details for both business and engineering stakeholders. 

• Self-starter with experience delivering in Agile or hybrid project frameworks. 

• Prior experience in Professional Services or implementation consulting strongly preferred.
