About the Role

Senior Team Leader of Research & Valuations will oversee the operations of Freedom’s Research, Valuations, and Market Analytics departments. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering exceptional results. The Senior Team Leader will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of the departments, managing daily logistics, maintaining KPIs, and driving the successful delivery of projects.

 

Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Management, Civil Engineering, Property Economics, Banking, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in research or valuations, with a strong record of delivering results and driving process or performance improvements.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of leadership experience, including direct team management, performance oversight, and strategic decision-making
  • Solid understanding of property valuation principles, market research methodologies, and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with the Australian property market and relevant industry practices (highly desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing projects and overseeing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders across departments.
  • Strategic and analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to develop, track, and manage team KPIs and departmental performance.
  • Experience in identifying training needs and leading talent development within teams.
  • Proficient in project management tools and relevant software (e.g., Asana, Trello, Excel, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

  •   Act as the crucial intermediary between your manager and the operational teams, guaranteeing that directives, expectations, and feedback are accurately conveyed and understood.
  •  Provide leadership and support to ensure the smooth operation of each team, stepping in to manage directly when team leaders are absent.
  • Oversee and ensure the appropriate delegation of all incoming projects and deliverables amongst the three teams, closely monitoring progress to guarantee completion to the highest standard and within set timelines.
  •  Identify ongoing training needs and opportunities for professional development within the teams.
  •  Assist your manager with the hiring process for new team members, working closely with HR to identify, interview, and onboard top talent.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators for all team members.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and direction of the departments.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of the department's budgets.

 

Qualifications

  •  Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in real estate management (REM), Civil Engineering, Property Economics, Banking, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong background in property valuation, market research, and data analytics.
  • Experience in the Australian property market, including research and valuation, is a plus.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery and team management.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and drive team performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in the use of project management tools and software.
  • Can work  role aligned with Sydney, Australian Time Zone business hours
