As an Underwriting Specialist, you are accountable for underwriting reviews of all community applications utilizing Fair Housing requirements, Havenpark's admission policy, and Havenpark's underwriting standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to performing underwriting decisions on applications, developing process improvements for underwriting, and analyzing and reporting effectively to the Havenpark leadership team.
ResponsibilitiesApplication Underwriting (~75% of time)Ensure all community applications submitted are accurate, complete, and contain valid supporting documents requiredEnsure all community applications are reviewed for underwriting decision within the same day the application was submittedPerform application underwriting responsibilities as the business requires, including SaturdaysUnderwriting Data Analyst and Improvement Development (~10% of time) Analyze underwriting approvals in correlation with delinquency and lease compliance to develop underwriting improvements Analyze underwriting standards and processes to further improve efficiency Underwriting Support & Coaching (~10% of time) Actively support and coach other Havnepark employees on the underwriting process, including: - Entering applications with appropriate supporting documents- Understanding underwriting approval/denial decision- Understanding underwriting approval decision data in conjunction with property performanceOther (~5% of time) Perform other duties and projects as assigned by Business OperationsQualificationsAssociates degree preferred 1+ years' experience in underwriting Experience in property management is helpful, but not required Experience in analyzing dataProficient with Outlook, Microsoft Word, and ExcelStrong knowledge of computer software programs, such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or other CRMsStrong analytical skills; strong attention to detail with exceptional time-management skills Ability to use strong judgment and problem-solving skills when making decisionsMotivated to help others, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervisionExcellent oral and written communication skillsWe offer our employees a golden work experience including a competitive salary, comprehensive health benefits, generous PTO, paid holidays, a 401(k) with a 6% company match, and above all infinite opportunities to learn, develop and sharpen their skills.
