Oversee a team responsible for performing multiple functions related to commercial loan documentation. Primary oversight for those performing all functions relating to documenting complex and/or non complex commercial loans that are originated via Commercial Bankers (CBCs) and Retail Bankers (BBCs) utilizing Laser Pro and/or the Lawyer Pro option in Laser Pro and the Loan Origination System. Ensure integrity of loan docs and ensure documents are in accordance to the term and conditions of credit approval. Make sure they are compliant to all applicable regulatory requirements. Provide direction, guidance, and coaching to staff.
In this role you'll have the opportunity to:
Responsible for integrity of loan documentation for all commercial loan types as related to commercial real estate, UCC secured, lines of credit, letters of credit, aircraft, preferred mortgages, SWAP, SBA 7a, SBA Express & SBA 504’s with regards to new loans, renewals, extensions, and modifications.
Performs complete verification to ensure all loan documents are properly documented in accordance to the terms and conditions of the credit approval, established departmental guidelines and compliant to regulatory requirements as it pertains to local, state and federal guidelines.
Responsible for own work to be completed on time and accurately within established departmental SLA by planning, coordinating and monitoring daily activities. Also responsible to manage, assign, reassign, and coordinate the work in the Doc Prep pipeline through SharePoint and the Loan Origination System and department projects with the Doc Prep team to ensure work is completed within established departmental SLA. Acts as an escalation point for team members to resolve documentation related issues.
Responsible for assisting in the development of procedures and process guides. Also responsible to assist with projects and testing as needed.
Responsible for communication to underwriters, loan officers, loan specialists, middle office reviewers, and branch personnel for resolution of any documentation related issues that may hold up customer closing processes.
Responsible for participating in required training for team members on aspects of Loan Documentation including the use of Laser Pro Software, or pertinent compliance laws and regulations as required by Banner Bank.
Responsible for complying with policies, procedures, security requirements and government regulations.
Education & Certifications
H.S. Diploma: required (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
Experience
4 or more years of experience in commercial loan servicing required
2 or more years of experience in a supervisory/management role leading a project, process or team required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Advanced knowledge and understanding of all non complex and complex commercial loan documentation, departmental functions, Laser Pro, Loan Origination System, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office.
Possess a solid understanding of financial contracts, of loan documentation structure requirements with ability to review credit approvals, organizational documents among other due diligence related documents to ensure adherence with bank’s lending policy/procedures and bank regulatory compliance requirements. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and of federal/state laws and regulations relating to loan servicing.
Proven detail orientated with excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with ability to write clearly, professionally, and informatively, editing for spelling, grammar and accuracy.
Ability to lead a team and efficiently organize heavy workloads in a deadline-driven environment with frequent changes in priorities and an emphasis on customer service and teamwork. Ability to coach and mentor staff.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
