Position Summary

Sikich is seeking a Senior Data Architect to join our Data & Analytics practice. In this role, you'll design and implement modern data architectures for client engagements, with a focus on relational databases, data lakes, and cloud-based data solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. You'll help organizations modernize their data infrastructure, implement robust data governance practices, and create scalable data ecosystems that enable advanced data capabilities and analytics and AI capabilities.

As a Senior Data Architect at Sikich, you'll develop comprehensive data strategies that transform how clients manage, access, and leverage their information assets. This position requires deep expertise in database technologies, data modeling, and enterprise architecture to successfully guide clients through complex data modernization journeys.

What will you do in this role?

• Design scalable data architecture solutions supporting client current and future business needs
• Develop data integration patterns and frameworks across disparate systems
• Create reference architectures for various data implementations
• Define master data management strategies and oversee implementations
• Create and maintain data models and data dictionaries
• Evaluate and recommend data technologies based on business requirements
• Develop migration strategies for legacy data systems
• Identify and mitigate technical risks in data projects
• Collaborates with engineering teams to ensure proper architecture implementation

What do you need to succeed in this role?

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Business Intelligence preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in data architecture, database development, or related roles
• Proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise-scale data solutions
• Proven experience in business intelligence and analytics platform architecture
• Experience in data modeling techniques including dimensional modeling and entity-relationship design
• Possesses advanced experience with relational and NoSQL database management systems
• Proficient with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and related ecosystem tools
• Experience with major cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related data services
• Strong understanding of data integration patterns and ETL/ELT processes and tools
• Working knowledge of programming languages relevant to data processing (Python, SQL, Scala)
• Shows experience with metadata management, data lineage, and data catalog tools
• Understanding of RESTful API design principles for data services
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty or Databricks Certified Data Engineer certifications are a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience migrating applications to cloud environments
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and implementation
• Familiarity with document management solutions and storage services
• Experience with data lake and data warehouse implementations
• Background in financial services, healthcare, or manufacturing industries
• Understanding of compliance requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, etc.)
• Experience with API design, development, and management

In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the midpoint of the base salary range for this role is $180,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, commission, and geographic location.
