Job overview
As a Product Owner focused on our Boost advertising platform, your primary responsibility will be to drive revenue growth through increased seller adoption and upgrade and optimisation of our Boost product. You will own the end-to-end strategy for Boost, identifying opportunities to improve the product experience, increase seller take up, and maximise revenue generation.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, sales, marketing, and data analytics to ensure that our Boost product roadmap aligns with business revenue objectives while delivering clear value to sellers.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Growth and Seller Adoption:
- Own and achieve ambitious revenue targets for the Boost product, tracking KPIs and making data-driven adjustments to strategy
- Develop comprehensive seller segmentation strategies to identify high-value targets for Boost adoption and revenue optimisation
- Create and execute campaigns to drive seller onboarding, upgrades, and increased commission commitments
- Work with Sales and Account Management teams to create targeted programmes for new sellers
Product Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and communicate a clear and compelling product vision to drive your assigned KPIs
- Create and maintain a product roadmap that outlines strategic priorities, feature development, and release schedules
- Identify opportunities to simplify the seller experience and increase adoption of Boost across seller segments
User-Centric Design and Development:
- Use data to understand user needs and drive the development of user-focused features and enhancements
- Define and prioritise product features and user stories in the product backlog, considering business value, technical feasibility, and user impact
- Work closely with development, design, marketing, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of product initiatives
Product Delivery and Quality Assurance:
- Coordinate release planning, ensuring that product features are delivered on time and meet quality standards
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure that products meet quality and performance standards
- Ensure rapid iteration cycles to quickly test and validate revenue-generating improvements
Data-Driven Decision Making and Stakeholder Communication:
- Utilise data and analytics to make informed decisions, track key performance metrics, and iterate on product features
- Communicate product updates, progress, and timelines to internal stakeholders and external partners
- Develop and monitor dashboards tracking seller adoption, revenue performance, and ROI metrics for Boost
- Create regular reports on Boost revenue performance, demonstrating the impact of product improvements and seller acquisition initiatives
Requirements
Product Ownership and Revenue Generation:
- 4+ years of experience in a Product Owner or Product Manager role with direct responsibility for revenue generation
- Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth through product optimisation and user adoption
- Experience working with advertising, commission-based and marketplace business models
Seller Engagement and Segmentation:
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective user segmentation strategies and targeted adoption campaigns
- Experience working directly with sellers or merchants in an e-commerce or marketplace environment
- Strong understanding of seller economics and value propositions that drive advertising spend
Product Management Expertise:
- Strong understanding of agile development methodologies and product management best practices
- Experience as a Product Owner, including backlog management, sprint planning, and working directly with development teams
Strategic Thinking and Prioritisation:
- Experience in product prioritisation, roadmap development, and delivery of user functionality within a fast-growth environment
- Ability to ruthlessly prioritise against objectives, articulate desired outcomes, and work collaboratively to create a path to achieve them
- Skilled at balancing short-term revenue opportunities with long-term product vision
Data-Driven Decision Making:
- A natural talent for numbers, with experience in identifying behavioural insights from qualitative research
- Ability to balance business and customer needs and demonstrate the impact of problem-solving on business KPIs
- Experience with revenue forecasting, cohort analysis, and ROI measurement
Communication and Collaboration:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication to technical and non-technical audiences
- A collaborative approach to work, with a willingness to get input from the team
- Strong sales and persuasion skills, with the ability to influence sellers and internal stakeholders
Adaptability and Resilience:
- High tolerance for ambiguity, ability to perform under pressure to meet deadlines, and a willingness to take risks
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Comfort with revenue targets and accountability for financial outcomes
Technical Proficiency:
- A basic understanding of technical concepts is essential
- A technical background (e.g., previous experience as a developer) is a significant advantage but not essential
- Understanding of advertising algorithms, CPA/CPC models, and digital marketing metrics
Benefits
The salary on offer for this role is up to £65,000 to £70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
