About the position:
To more accurately estimate the reach of Americares work, it is essential to measure how many people benefit from our supplies of medical donations. MERL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning) and the Medical Unit have worked together to determine a methodological evaluation process, and we have decided to pursue the Delphi Method which requires a facilitator with expertise.
Key Deliverables
- Refine research questions, define key constructs related to reach, and finalize study methodology.
- Assist in identifying, recruiting and orienting relevant subject matter experts and stakeholders throughout the global health and gift-in-kind field to participate in Delphi surveys
- Design and administer iterative survey rounds using best practices for Delphi studies.
- Analyze responses from each Delphi round and refining subsequent questions to drive consensus.
- Facilitate discussions (if necessary) to address areas of divergence and ensure robust agreement on definitions and methodologies.
- Summarize findings, presenting a recommended approach for defining reach, and suggesting next steps for integrating the algorithmic model into Americares’ program monitoring systems
Degrees and/or experience required for the role:
- Advanced degree in public health, social sciences, epidemiology, or related field
- Demonstrated experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
- Demonstrated experience in conducting Delphi studies or consensus building research
These competencies are required for the role:
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills with people with diverse backgrounds across organizations in the global public health and gift-in-kind field
- Ability to conduct structured interviews and/or focus group discussions
- Experience in public health, humanitarian aid, supply chain analytics, or medical logistics
These competencies would be great to have, but are not required:
- Fluency in languages that are spoken in at least one of our core locations (India, Philippines, Tanzania, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, Colombia, etc.), in addition to English.
