Position: Engineering Manager
Experience: 10-14 years

Mandatory Skills and Experience:
• Core KPI
• Scrum Management / backlog grooming and prioritisation for Planning, Build
• Release Management - go to production faster via code progression path and release scope
handling ( both Major and Minor)
• Customer Support - handling the customer escalations within the SLA
• Application Architecture - Design review, code review, tools and tech mentorship
Key Responsibilities:
BAU Backlog Delivery Using Scrum
• Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and prioritization to ensure timely delivery of BAU
features and enhancements. o Collaborate with Product Managers to align backlog priorities with
business objectives. o Execute delivery with development and quality assurance teams, fostering
a high-performing Scrum environment.
• Monitor sprint metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown) to optimize team productivity and identify
bottlenecks.
Release Planning for Code Progression to Production
• Oversee end-to-end release planning, ensuring code progression from development to production meets quality, security, and performance standards.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks to streamline releases. o Ensure
compliance with security (e.g., OWASP guidelines) and performance (e.g., latency, scalability)
requirements.
• Coordinate with DevOps and QA teams to minimize downtime and rollback risks during
deployments.
Engineering Escalation for Customer Support
• Act as the primary point of escalation for engineering-related customer support issues, ensuring
resolution within defined SLAs. o Collaborate with the Customer Support team to triage and
prioritize critical issues impacting product stability.
• Implement root cause analysis (RCA) and preventive measures to reduce recurrence of customer issues.
• Track and report SLA adherence metrics to stakeholders.
Application Architecture and Design for BAU Backlog
• Own the technical architecture and design of BAU backlog items, ensuring scalability,
maintainability, and alignment with product goals.
• Review and approve technical designs proposed by the development team, ensuring adherence to best practices (e.g., microservices, REST APIs).
• Drive technical debt reduction and modernization initiatives to enhance long-term product
stability.
• Stay updated on industry trends to incorporate relevant technologies into the architecture.
Core KPIs:
• Productivity: Achieve consistent sprint velocity and on-time delivery of 90%+ of planned BAU
backlog items pushed to Production Release in time.
• Product Quality: Maintain a defect escape rate of <5% in production and ensure
• 99.9% uptime for the Fayredge Product.
• Product Stability: Reduce critical customer escalations by 20% quarter-overquarter through
proactive issue resolution and robust architecture.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:10+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in an engineering management role leading Agile/Scrum teams.
o Proven track record of delivering data-driven or SaaS products with a focus on quality and stability.
• Hands-on experience with release management, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
o Familiarity with customer support escalation processes and SLA management.
oStrong background in application architecture, including microservices, APIs, and database
design.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) and frameworks relevant to the Fayredge Product. o Knowledge of security standards (e.g., OWASP, SOC2) and
performance optimization techniques.
• Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, or equivalent for Agile and DevOps
processes.
Soft Skills:
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills to align cross-functional teams (e.g., Product,
QA, DevOps).
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under tight deadlines. o Ability to mentor
engineers and foster a culture of innovation and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Startup building AI, Data-driven products.
• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
• Prior exposure to customer-facing SaaS products with high availability requirements.
