Job Summary:

Lead a cross functional team of Project Managers and Business Analysts in support of Employee Benefits (EB) Division strategic and tactical goals, and evolving technology across the organization.

In collaboration with business units in EB and IT, drive efficient project management, business analysis and process architecture through industry best known discipline practices; aligning with Standard’s Business Analysis Framework and SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle at The Standard) methodologies.

The leadership position is responsible for directing the work of the team and ensuring that competencies of team resources are sufficient to meet the ever changing needs of EB.

Work closely with peers across the company to foster an environment of collaboration and support while ensuring alignment with corporate competencies, values and vision.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • (40%) Develop and lead a team of project management and business analyst professionals that are recognized for their high level of expertise and are actively sought out to support key division initiatives.  Apply best practices within and between all disciplines to increase the effectiveness of the team.  Stay abreast of industry best practices and continually innovate to improve the performance of the team.   Build credibility and effective engagement with multiple stakeholder groups across the company.
  • (40%) Manage team resources, including selection, development, motivation, appraisal and salary recommendations of direct reports.  Provide hands-on team leadership, coaching and employee development.  Responsible for ensuring effective performance management practices are in place.
  • (20%) Build relationships with business leaders to understand business objectives and priorities. Lead the team to identify, qualify, select, structure, prioritize, and deliver tactical and strategic projects. In collaboration with leaders maximize productivity on projects through effective resource assignments and monitoring to ensure resources are delivering consistent value.

Skills and Background You’ll Need

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in a combination of voluntary / employee benefits and business process consulting (or a related field)
  • 5 years of change management & continuous improvement experience
  • 2 years of previous leadership experience with supervisory responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of continual improvement processes, data compilation, strategic planning, strategic thinking, and trend analysis

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on a variety of factors including individual and organizational performance.

Salary Range:

$119,000.00 - $190,250.00
