As a Corporate Compliance Specialist, you will support the Office of Corporate Compliance by maintaining and administering the CCHS Compliance Program.  The Compliance Specialist will support the Ohio compliance section of the Compliance Department in the oversight and implementation of the Cleveland Clinic compliance program. 


A caregiver in this position works 8:00am – 5:00pm. Must currently reside in NE Ohio to qualify


A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Act as a liaison for the compliance department, collaborating with key departments to confirm policies and procedures are developed and implemented to ensure compliance with applicable contract provisions, rules and regulations, including the assessment, interpretation and drafting of policy, procedure or job aids. 

  • Obtain and analyze data to help identify compliance risks to organization. 

  • Effectively communicates to management the effects of changes in rules and regulations impacting hospital operations. 

  • Support organization’s compliance program through participation in meetings, committees, and projects. 

  • Conduct research and prepare reports and memos on compliance topics. 

  • Participate in investigations of issues as assigned, including conduct of interviews and research, and makes recommendations on resolution. 

  • Provide assistance with the conduct of compliance committee meetings. 

  • Conduct and/or oversee the conduct of compliance auditing and monitoring activities.   

  • Contribute to the Compliance Department annual work plan.


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of recent experience with healthcare compliance, auditing, billing, coding, privacy, research, regulatory review and application, reimbursement and/or information management.  

  • 3 years of recent experience with health care compliance, auditing, billing, coding, reimbursement and/or information management required OR High School Diploma / GED or equivalent and 7 years of relative experience.  

  • Unbiased approach to situations combined with a non-judgmental attitude.  

  • Can identify and address multiple perspectives on issues.  

  • Can lead investigations into root-cause identification and subsequent process improvement initiatives.  

  • Can manage, coordinate and track multiple cases/projects simultaneously and appropriately prioritize tasks.  

  • Proficiency in using standard software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). 


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Certification in healthcare compliance  

  • Master's Degree or Juris Doctorate

  • Knowledge of healthcare and/or state and federal statutes and regulations governing hospitals and or the healthcare industry.
