This is a remote position.

Job Title: Administrative & Medical Billing Assistant (Remote)

Work Hours:
Part-time – 4 hours per day (Monday to Friday)
Preferred shift: Morning EST (starting at 9:00 AM EST)

Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Administrative & Medical Billing Assistant to support a busy multidisciplinary health clinic. This is a part-time, remote position ideal for candidates with experience in medical billing, insurance coordination, and administrative support in healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Appointment Confirmation Calls:
    Make daily confirmation calls to patients for upcoming appointments across various disciplines (physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage therapy, acupuncture, medical assessments).

  • Insurance Verification & Coordination:
    Contact insurance companies (e.g., Sun Life, Manulife) to verify patient coverage and benefits. Assist with following up on pre-approvals or billing issues.

  • Medical Billing Support:

    • Perform daily audits of charges in the EMR system.

    • Ensure services are correctly billed to the appropriate treatment plans and providers.

    • Monitor billing discrepancies (e.g., provider mismatches) and correct them proactively.

  • Schedule Reconciliation:
    Check daily schedules to confirm that all charges have been captured accurately.
    Support the clinic team in ensuring nothing is missed or misapplied.

  • Administrative Support:

    • Provide general administrative assistance to the clinic team.

    • Collaborate closely with internal staff to flag and correct billing or schedule issues.



Requirements


  • Previous experience in a healthcare administrative or medical billing role.

  • Familiarity with private health insurance processes in Canada is a strong advantage.

  • Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to resolving discrepancies.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Stable internet connection and ability to work via a web-based phone/EMR system.

  • Comfortable working in a remote setting and handling sensitive patient information confidentially.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting physiotherapy, chiropractic, or similar clinical environments.

  • Familiarity with Canadian health insurance providers.

  • Tech-savvy and comfortable with EMR systems and VoIP apps.
